I've been thinking a lot lately about how excited I am to have my baby and get my body back. There's something about getting close to the end of pregnancy that does that to you ;) This picture popped up today and I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
You see, after my first baby I had no direction when it came to fitness and nutrition. I thought I could count my calories, do a little walking and running and then the weight would come off. But it didn't happen.
So, I got frustrated.
I turned to things like "Slim Fast" and "Green Tea" and all of these other fads and "quick fixes"...which of course didn't last and only frustrated me more.
Finally, about 9 months after my baby was born, I was desperate for change and decided to give a "Beachbody Challenge" group a try. I was skeptical, but why not?!
30 days later I was 10lbs down, my Crohn's Disease symptoms had lessened, I had more ENERGY (which I hadn't felt in so long, being a new mom), and I was EXERCISING DAILY and forming HEALTHY HABITS!! Something I had lost track of in my quest to "get my body back". I was learning the importance of proper nutrition, exercise and MINDSET. It was working, it wasn't a fad, and it was something I could sustain long term.
>>Fast forward to post baby #2. I had the resources. I had been working out through my pregnancy. I had been watching my nutrition through pregnancy. I KNEW what I was going to do post baby for workouts and eating. I HAD A PLAN, I HAD A SUPPORT SYSTEM, I HAD DEVELOPED HEALTHY HABITS.
---->>>It wasn't about a "diet" anymore. It was about adopting a new LIFESTYLE. <<<------
The weight came off SO MUCH QUICKER after baby #2 because of the 21 Day Fix Meal Plan, Shakeology, and daily 30 minute workouts. You can see a HUGE DIFFERENCE in these two pics! And my hubby doesn't look too shabby either ;) he adopted the same lifestyle changes as me and because he choose to be more active and focus on his nutrition, the weight came off.
So, that's why I say I AM GRATEFUL. FULL of GRATITUDE to Beachbody Challenge groups for helping me learn how to life a healthy LIFESTYLE so that after I have my 3rd baby, I CAN get my body back, I CAN have energy as a new mom, and I CAN feel like myself again!!!
