My family, my health, my life, and coaching business have grown and evolved so much over the last four years, I feel like it’s time to re-introduce myself, my mission, and what “Lead a Happy Life” is really all about...
It all started about 8 years ago. I was struggling with my health, my Crohn’s Disease was flaring and I kept having miscarriages. Between the stress of my health, marriage, and college, I was gaining weight and I knew I needed help.
So, I put it out there to my Facebook friends that I wanted to start a support group. We would all do the “30 day shred” Jillian Michaels program together and set a goal to run a race at the end of the 30 days. My friends were on board and since we didn’t all live by each other we started a blog to stay in touch….the “Shred Sisters” were born! It was so fun to train and reach goals along side these ladies. I was hooked!
Fast forward 3 years…I had just had my first baby and was struggling to lose the baby weight and get control of my Crohn’s Disease. I knew I needed support to help me get through. I wanted to start something like the “Shred Sisters” again, but before I got around to it I had a friend reach out to me and invite to me join her online support group. I was so excited for the support, I said yes! 30 days later I had lost the baby weight and my Crohn’s symptoms had significantly improved.
I knew I wanted to keep doing these groups and provide opportunities for other women to reach their goals. I knew I wanted to share what I had learned and mentor and coach other women.
From there, the "LEAD Happiness" group, and my life motto of “Lead a Happy Life" was born.
My first LEAD Happiness group started with a few of my local lady friends and family helping support each other and working towards running a 5K together.
Today, just over 4 years after my first “official” LEAD Happiness Challenge I’m now coaching clients all over the US, Canada and United Kingdom. I’ve watched my clients completely change their lives, lose weight, improve their marriages, change their eating habits, run their first 5k, improve their mindsets, compete in IronMan’s, and so much more.
There’s nothing more rewarding than encouraging others to work towards their divine potential and watch them lead a happy life.
"Lead a Happy Life" is not only my motto, it’s also my social media brand and outlet for me to share my life. Writing for me has always been therapeutic. I used to blog about my miscarriages and received so much support through that. Connecting with others who are going through similar struggles has gotten me through hard times.
Before Facebook groups were a thing, I would search internet message boards and blogs trying to find other women who had Crohn’s disease or MTHFR and were having recurrent miscarriages. The people I met there helped me have the courage to find a good doctor, ask the right questions and get my babies here!
The power of sharing and connecting through social media has had such a positive influence in my life, I feel a burning in my heart to pay it forward.
It’s scary to share so much on social media, to talk about my trials, my success, my fears… but if I can inspire just one person to move closer to God, to change how they speak about themselves, to work on their eating habits, to work on their marriage, to sign up for a race, or up their daily step count…. then it’s worth being vulnerable and sharing my heart.
I will continue to write, share, and hope to inspire as many people as possible to lead a happier, more fulfilling lives.
