Throwing it back to our 2008 Kauai trip for #tbt today!!
We went on this trip as a celebration for Matt's college graduation and late Honeymoon. We had the trip all planned full of fun things to do including hiking then the Nepali coast. We were so excited!
On the way there I started to get sick. My Crohn's had been flaring pretty bad for the first year of our marriage and it didn't show signs of stopping. I have been trying different meds and nothing was working. I was so nervous I was going to ruin the whole trip because I was sick with my Crohn's. I was embarrassed that I had to deal with these things with my husband and he had to be a part of it. I didn't feel worthy of his love and was scared I would scare him off.
I was sick the whole trip and it did limit what we did. We only went halfway on our coast hike and it was a hard trip for me. I loved it and I would do it again in a heartbeat, but it would've been so much more fun if I hadn't been in pain because of my Crohn's.
Crohn's has limited me for a long time in life, but I choose to overcome. I choose to raise awareness and help others see that you CAN live a happy life with Crohn's and that we can raise awareness and money to find a cure and advancements in medicine for those suffering with Crohn's and colitis!
