I'll never forget the first time me and the hubs worked out together...It was a DISASTER.
We were newlyweds, trying to set good habits and do the right thing. We woke up early (because that's when you're supposed to work out...right?!), stretched out, and went for a 1 mile run around the neighborhood we lived in.
Matt was a powerhouse-running-MACHINE----and I was WEAK. He tried to encourage me along- but HOW DARE HE!! I didn't need a coach, someone telling what to do!!!! Let's just say it wasn't a pretty ending and we didn't work out together for probably a good 6 years after that!
So, what changed??
We both made an INDIVIDUAL choice to change. We both had to come around on our own terms, at our own times.... to reading Personal development books and working out, but once we BOTH made the choice to change TOGETHER- we have been stronger and happier than ever.
Now we love to workout together when we get the chance. Now we can give advice in a loving way and encourage each other along with out being defensive and holding grudges.
If you're struggling in your relationships, WORK ON YOU FIRST. Be an example of love and support. TREAT others like they are doing the BEST they can..:and just love on them and pray for them.
